Can you guess what this is? I didn't know until I asked the person who gave it to me. "It's a pencil holder!" they exclaimed. Now, can you guess what happens when I try to put pencils into it?

See, they were just making it easier for you.
Now you can get your pencils with ease from the side, instead of fishing around the top trying to get the one you want. :)

Good point! Maybe this will sharpen my senses and erase any notion of throwing this away. Or, I could keep it around in case a spring breaks on my mattress.

Its not a pencil holder, its a utensil holder for the counter. I keep wooden spoons etc next to my stove. I actually purchased this from Target years ago.
