New rare fruit discovered

Here is a lovely gift that my husband received at his Yankee Swap at work last year- an ambient diffuser which releases the succulent scents of strawberry and...

payaya.

Why do Yankee Swaps suck so much? I mean, there are gifts you can never go wrong with: box of chocolates, bottle of wine, etc... But instead you end up with ridiculous crap such as an "ambient diffuser." Who wants their house to smell like strawberry and papaya anyway? The fruits themselves would have been better gifts.

What's so "ambient" about your house smelling like the produce section of the supermarket?

With payayas no less!

I'm an Aussie, so what the heck is a Yankee Swap?

Also, I'm the Produce Manager of a Supermarket where Paw Paw is cut up every day.

It would be a cold day in Hell before I put that scent through the house. It's bad enough smelling like it yourself, let alone your whole home. Yuck!

Chimaera,
Cool, an Aussie! :) A Yankee Swap is when a group of people swap gifts, but there is a catch. You pick numbers, and the person with number one gets to pick a gift first, then the person with number two then can pick a new gift, or take the first person's gift, and so on. Here is the link to a better description:

I agree, it is not my favorite scent to have wafting through my house.

Oops, I don't think that link worked. Anyway, you can see the description of it on Wikipedia.

Thanks for the link.

I think I am truly grateful that we don't have that over here. :)
